TREES’ FREEDOM

Once I asked some trees,

How they would feel if they were free?

They said they would jump with joy,

And march like a sepoy.

Though they were sad,

For the humans had been bad.

As they chopped down their friends,

And broke their friendship trends.

They wanted to take their revenge though,

But did not want to make any more foe.

They hated the word deforestation,

And they loved to hear about ‘afforestation’.

Their story was sad,

So I felt really bad.

I said my goodbye,

And as I walked home, the time seemed to flyby.

I thought about ways to save nature,

And thought about the otherwise terrible future.

As I went to bed that night,

I switched on my bedside light.

And thought about the wonderful time I had with the trees,

About how they would feel if they were free.
